Michael Gerard Stika, 68, of Madison, Indiana, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1955, in Cresco, Iowa, to Robert and Dorothy Hruska Stika Sr. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School and Crestwood High School in Cresco. He married Yvonne Todd on July 31, 2015, in Fishers, Indiana. He was retired from farming and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus in Iowa and Holy Spirit Trinity Catholic Church in Cresco and Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison. He enjoyed woodworking, rescuing vintage tools and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of seven years of Madison; his sisters, Mary Cheville and Shirley Nelson, both of Ames, Iowa and Geralyn Smith, of Waukon, Iowa; his brothers, Robert Stika Jr. and Ron Stika, both of Cresco; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Denise Stika, Gerald Stika, Dale Stika and Helen Watson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Protivin, Iowa. Arrangements entrusted to Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, in Madison.
