Norma McMahan, 88, of North Vernon, Indiana, died Monday, April 5, 2021, at her home.
She was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Madison, Indiana, to Melvin and Lucy Pettit Jenkins. She was a graduate of Aurora High School and married Robert McMahan on Aug. 26, 2012. She retired from Regal Rugs after 26 years and was a member of Chestnut Street Community Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, listening to gospel music, doing activities at the senior center, traveling and growing flowers.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol Jean Hadley and Sheryl Ann Hawkins, both of North Vernon; her stepdaughters, Jamie Davis of Madison and Linda Schroeder of Salem; a half-brother, Gilbert Leroy Moody of Virginia; and seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of five years on Feb. 25, 2017; a son, Edward Barnes; and a half-brother, Frank Marvin Moody.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, at the Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana. Visitation is 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
