Shawn Lee Green, 47, of Lafayette, Indiana and formerly of Vevay, Indiana, died Tuesday Sept. 7, 2021, at his residence in Lafayette.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1973, in Madison, Indiana, to Richard Lee “Rick” Green and Ronda Louise Harsin Spicer. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana, and attended Switzerland County High School. He married Michelle Springer on July 15, 2000, in Vevay, and they had two sons by blending their families. She was employed for Belterra Casino & Resort and Cincinnati International Airport and later worked with his father for Green Construction in Switzerland County. He moved to Lafayette where he was employed for Lighthouse Recovery for one year and was most recently employed for Mint City Utilities in Lafayette. He was a member of the Switzerland County YMCA and the Sons of the Vevay American Legion Post No. 185. He attended the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Indiana. He loved fishing, playing guitar, boating, singing, swimming and hanging out with his friends.

Survivors include his mother of Commiskey, Indiana; his sons, Blake Lee Green of Bloomington, Indiana and Nicholas Smallwood of Greensburg, Indiana; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; his stepmother, Donna Mae Arthur Green; his stepfather, Jerry Lee Spicer; his paternal grandparents, Arthur “Buddy” and Olive Frances Green; his maternal grandparents, Shirley and Juanita Harsin and his paternal great grandparents, Glen H. and Opal D. Lee Baatz.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
