Marilyn Sue Jones Brooks, 66, of Madison, Indiana and formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, after battling cancer for many years.

She was born on June 22, 1955, in Milan, Indiana, to Larry Gene and Virginia Louise “Jenny” Bailey Turner. She was a 1973 graduate of Vevay High School and lived in the Switzerland County community until 1988. She had two daughters and a son. She married Gerald “Gary” Brooks on June 9, 1988, in Carrollton, Kentucky, and moved to Madison. She worked 30 years at Indiana Kentucky Electric Corporation in maintenance before retiring in 2015. She loved gardening, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her father of Florence, Indiana; her husband of 33 years of Madison; her daughters, Stephanie White of Chicago and Amanda Dorten of Hanover, Indiana; her son, James “Jimmy” Stultz of South Carolina; a brother, John Jones of Quercus Grove, Indiana; and three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother on June 12, 2019; and a brother, Jerry Wayne Jones.

Cremation was chosen and no services are planned.
