Thelma Rose Readnour, 94, of Turners Station, Kentucky, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at Baptist Health La Grange in La Grange, Kentucky.

She was born on March 1, 1927, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to Fred G. Ashcraft and Annie B. Kemper Ashcraft. She had worked for 29 years at Fannie Farmer Candy in Cincinnati as the store manager. She never drove and would ride a public bus from Covington, Kentucky, to the store. Through her relationships with customers, she met many famous people over the years who visited the candy store. After her retirement, she moved to Turners Station to be near her sister and became a member of Turners Station Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her sister and reading in her spare time.

Survivors include three sisters, Norma Jean Reed of Hodgenville, Kentucky, Barbara Louise Brasfield of Madison, Indiana and Joyce Ann Jones of Turners Station; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey Readnour, on Sept. 22, 1998; five sisters, Ruth Cook, Goldie Ashcraft, Virginia Reeves, Ruth Maureen Duncan and Margie Fay Moore; and four brothers, Charles Coy, John Junior Ashcraft, Orville Ashcraft and Paul Ashcraft.

Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
