Wanda Nell Noble “Nellie Bell” Duke, 78, of Fowler, Indiana and formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, died Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the Green-Hill Manor in Fowler.

She was born on July 5, 1942, in Hawesville, Kentucky, to Herbert and Creshia Flake Noble Riley Davis. She married Garland “Junior” Duke on Feb. 22, 1957, in Hardinsburg, Kentucky, and they had three children. She was a member of the Bennington United Methodist Church in Bennington, Indiana, and employed at the Switzerland County Division of Family Resources in Vevay, Indiana, for many years. She loved baking yeast rolls, spending time with family, taking long walks with her grandchildren and watching Fox News.

Survivors include her children, Steven Todd Duke of Fowler and Tracy Duke of Indianapolis; her sisters, Jean Bishop of Tell City, Indiana and Beverly Dow of Cannelton, Indiana; a brother, Joseph Noble of Tell City; and nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death her parents; her husband of 61 years on Oct. 1, 2018; a son, Garland “Dale” Duke, on April 17, 2015; two brothers, Bob Noble and Leonard Noble; and a great grandson.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment will follow in the Slawson Cemetery in Bennington. Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
