Carroll County boys golf placed second overall with a 363 in the North Central Kentucky Conference championships at Sugar Bay Golf Course on Tuesday.
Carroll’s Luke Staley was third overall individually with a 79 to earn all-conference honors. Connor Mefford shot a 94 for the Panthers while Jaxon Hewitt and Landon Isaacs each had 95s.
Owen County won the boys title. No information on Trimble County or the girls match were available.
Carroll County returned to action on Wednesday when it travels to Gallatin County and heads to Walton-Verona today.
Eder medalist in Madison win
Madison girls golf didn’t shoot its best score of the season but still posted a three-way win over Switzerland County and Southwestern at Sunrise Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Cubs shot just a 206 as a team but Keara Eder was the medalist with a 37 while Grace Bronkella and Gracie Gasaway each had 54s. Isa James had a 59 and Lilly Fox shot a 61.
No information for Switzerland or Southwestern was available.
Madison hosted Shawe, Lawrenceburg and Henryville on Wednesday then all four local schools play the IHSAA Sectional at Sunrise on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Hanover men finish 9th
Hanover College men’s golf finished ninth out of 14 teams in its own Battle at Belterra event on Monday.
The Panthers shot a two-round total of 639 (318-321) in the event. Dawson Long led Hanover with a ninth-place finish with a 149 (76-73) while Luke Van Leeuwen was 11th with a 150 (75-75).
Cole Ruttinger placed 56th with a 169 (84-85), Bing Wilson was 58th with a 171 (83-88) and Griffen Reynolds had a non-scoring 187 (91-96).
Hanover’s next match will be Oct. 2-3 when it competes in the Stateline Shootout hosted by Mount St. Joseph in Harrison, Ohio.
