All four local teams will play in the opening round when the IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament begins next week at three different locations.

None of the four teams received a first-round bye after the ping-pong balls were drawn in Indianapolis on Sunday. Madison, playing in the Class 3A Tournament at Charlestown, will take on Salem while Southwestern, which hosts the Class 2A Tournament, faces Switzerland County. Shawe, playing in the Class A Tournament at West Washington, will play the host Senators.

The sectional tournaments begin on Tuesday, March 2 and conclude with the championship games on Saturday, March 6.
