Christian Academy of Madison battled but fell 47-38 to Pleasant View Christian in the opening round of the Indiana Christian School Athletic Association Regional on Friday.

The Defenders trailed 11-4 after the first quarter and struggled to overcome that deficit the rest of the way before losing by nine.

Chase Hoskins led CAM with 12 points while Clay Carter had 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Jaxon Miller added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Defenders.

Trey Miller scored 22 points to lead Pleasant View.

Christian Academy, now 13-10 on the season, head to Shelbyville, Kentucky for a makeup game today and then will play in the national tournament in Dayton, Kentucky, the following week.

Switzerland boys fall to Dearborn

A depleted Switzerland County squad was able to put up little fight in a 60-32 loss to South Dearborn in boys basketball Saturday in Aurora.

The Pacers were down two starters for the game and found themselves behind 16-3 after the first quarter and 34-11 at halftime.

Ben Hicks scored 17 points to lead Switzerland while Austin Bowsaw had six points and Jacob Williams scored five.

Switzerland, now 3-18 on the season, wrap up the regular season with two tough games this week, today at Southwestern and on Thursday at Madison.

Shawe drops three games

Shawe Memorial lost three games over the weekend, including two in a rare Saturday doubleheader, in boys basketball.

The Hilltoppers lost to Rock Creek at home on Friday 70-23 then traveled to Cannelton Saturday afternoon where they fell 68-48. Shawe then headed to Owensboro, Kentucky, on Saturday night and lost 54-22 to McLean County.

Shawe, now 1-16 on the season, hosts Milan today and wraps up the regular season at home against Crothersville on Thursday.
