HARRODSBURG, Ky. — Madison’s 2022 football season got off to a rocky start as two-time defending Kentucky Class 4A state champion Boyle County left the Cubs beaten and broken after a 50-2 win in the Little Caesar’s Fort Harrod Bowl in Harrodsburg on Saturday.

Madison was limited to just 51 total yards from scrimmage in the game and its only points came on a bad snap on a punt cost the Rebels a safety with less than three minutes to play in the game. Making matters worse was an injury suffered by the Cubs’ Drew Hayden, which saw the senior get taken off the field by ambulance with a broken leg to undergo surgery on Sunday.
