Jade Nutley and Taylor Lynch each scored 20 points but it wasn’t enough as Madison girls basketball lost 57-52 at Indian Creek on Saturday.

The Cubs played from behind the entire way, trailing 20-13 after the first quarter and 33-20 at halftime. Madison rallied in the second half to win both quarters, but couldn’t make up the deficit.

Nutley, a senior, added 10 rebounds for the double-double while Lynch, a junior, had four rebounds, four assists and six steals.

As a team, Madison shot 30% (14-for-47) from the floor while Indian Creek hit 40% (14-for-35). Lauren Foster had 21 points and Emily Todor scored 12 points to lead the Braves.

Madison, now 1-4 on the season, travels to Jeffersonville on Thursday and hosts Floyd Central on Saturday in its opening conference games of the Cubs’ final Hoosier Hills Conference season.
