Switzerland County outlasted Trimble County in double overtime, winning its girls basketball interstate matchup 63-56 at home on Tuesday.
Junior Jessie Duvall scored a career-high 32 points and added four rebounds and four assists to lead Switzerland County. Keirstan Oeffinger added 16 points for the Pacers while Nora Hankins had eight points and three rebounds and Maddie Duvall had five points and four rebounds.
No individual results for Trimble County were available.
Trimble County, now 1-2 on the season, traveled to North Bullitt on Wednesday. The Raiders’ game at home against Highlands Latin on Saturday has been postponed. Trimble’s next scheduled game is on Tuesday at Eminence.
Switzerland, now 12-3 on the season, hosts Southwestern today in a key Ohio River Valley Conference showdown. The Pacers travel to New Washington on Saturday.
Lady Rebels knock off Dearborn
Southwestern’s girls basketball team picked up its fifth-straight win, beating South Dearborn 56-49 at home on Tuesday.
Ashton Goode led the Rebels with 19 points while Ellie Foley had 15. Trinity McLain and Isabel Brooks scored nine points each.
Southwestern, which has not lost since before Christmas, improved to 9-4 on the season with the win. The Rebels travel to Switzerland County today for a key Ohio River Valley Conference matchup with the Pacers. Southwestern then travels to Rising Sun on Tuesday.
Trimble boys fall at Owen Co.
Trimble County’s boys basketball team dropped a 75-58 decision at Owen County on Tuesday in a 31st District matchup.
The Raiders, now 0-2 overall and 0-1 in both North Central Kentucky Conference and district play, travel to North Oldham on Saturday.
Carroll girls lose to Eminence
Carroll County’s girls basketball team lost 63-50 at home to Eminence on Wednesday in a 31st District game.
The Panthers, now 0-3 overall, fall to 0-1 in both the North Central Kentucky Conference and the district. Carroll County hosted Bullitt Central on Wednesday and will host Kentucky Country Day on Friday. The Panthers’ next scheduled game will be Tuesday at Owen County.
