Rotary book

New local author Lisa Griffin Moore describes her first children’s book “How Willie the Kitten Found His Purr” at the April 12 rotary meeting.

Bedford Rotary enjoyed the recent presentation from resident Lisa Moore on the detailed process of publishing a book, especially one that can interest preschoolers in the importance of establishing early reading habits. Her pet cat “Willie” became the inspiration for this first book, which is well illustrated by colorful pictures sure to catch the interest of young readers.

Trimble County is blessed with many creative people often going unnoticed or recognized. Our school systems are good, and do a fine job in encouraging the young to remain interested in life-long learning. Lisa Moore has had a long-term interest in education, and is a graduate of Western Kentucky earning a Bachelor of Science degree, and is a former teacher. She resides with her husband on a small farm in the county, along with her two dogs and cat. She is now the secretary at her local church. She is now working on further editions of her “Willie the Kitten” series.
